New buildings and levels change where the strongest defences sit, so a base built for the level below usually needs reworking rather than reusing.

How do I build a TH5 base layout in Clash of Clans?
Open the base picture, then open the Layout Editor in Clash of Clans, pick an empty layout slot and place each building and wall where the picture shows it. Taking a screenshot of the picture first makes it easier to follow.
How many TH5 layouts are on this page?

Which TH5 base should I use?
Pick by what you are defending. War bases are built to deny the three star, farm bases protect storages and Dark Elixir, and trophy bases protect the Town Hall and your percentage. The type chips at the top of this page filter to one goal at a time.
Is TH5 still worth building a base for?
Town Hall 5 is not the current maximum, which is TH18. These layouts still work exactly as designed for players sitting at TH5, and they matter in Clan War League where lower halls are matched against each other.
