Town Hall 19: What Supercell Has Actually Confirmed

Updated 6 Sep 2026 · Published 6 Sep 2026

There is no release date

Start with the part that matters. As of 6 September 2026, Town Hall 19 has no announced release date. There is no Supercell release-notes post, no sneak peek series, no in-game teaser and no date of any kind.

What does exist is a public, on-the-record conversation about the design of Town Hall 19, and that is what this page covers. Everything below comes from statements a Supercell game designer made in public. Nothing here is a leak, a datamine or an inference dressed up as a fact.

If you came here for a date, the honest answer is that nobody outside Supercell has one.

What was actually said

Supercell game designer Alexander Roque discussed Town Hall 19 on the final episode of Judo Sloth Talks 2026, reported on 6 August 2026. These are the points he made:

  • Town Hall 19 is in development. Its existence is not a rumour.
  • The Guardians move off the Town Hall. At Town Hall 18 the Guardian is part of the Town Hall itself. At Town Hall 19 it becomes its own structure. The exact form is undecided: he described the options as a dedicated building, a flag-like structure, or something completely different.
  • Guardians will not be an upgrade requirement. In his words, you will be able to upgrade your Town Hall even if your Guardians are still at level 1.
  • Older merged defences are meant to become ordinary. The Ricochet Cannon and the Multi-Archer Tower, both introduced with merging at Town Hall 16, are intended to drift toward being normal defences rather than special ones.
  • The Laboratory gets a second researcher, and Pets move into the Lab.
  • The roughly 12 month Town Hall cadence continues. Supercell said it is still following that plan.

That is the complete set. Anything you read that goes further, including new defence names, hero caps, wall levels, upgrade costs or a Guardian count, is not sourced to that conversation.

What the cadence does and does not tell you

The last five Town Halls landed like this:

Town Hall Released
Town Hall 14 12 April 2021
Town Hall 15 10 October 2022
Town Hall 16 11 December 2023
Town Hall 17 25 November 2024
Town Hall 18 17 November 2025

The last three arrived in November or December, roughly twelve months apart, and Supercell has said the cadence is unchanged. That is a pattern, and a pattern is a reasonable thing to plan around.

It is not a date. A pattern held for three years can slip by a month or by a season without anyone breaking a promise, and Supercell has committed to a cadence rather than to a calendar. Treat late 2026 as a plausible window and nothing more.

What has not been confirmed

For clarity, none of the following has any public source:

  • A release date, month or season.
  • The name or function of any new defence.
  • New maximum levels for any building, hero or wall.
  • The Town Hall 19 upgrade cost or build time.
  • Whether Town Hall 19 gets a defensive Town Hall at all, given that the Guardians are leaving it.
  • What the detached Guardian structure looks like or where it can be placed.

We will not publish layouts, building counts or “what to upgrade first” advice for Town Hall 19 until the update ships. Building counts are the one thing every reader can check in five seconds, and getting them wrong is the fastest way for a layouts site to lose its credibility.

What the Guardian change implies for base design

This is worth thinking about now, because it is a structural change rather than a numbers change.

At Town Hall 18 the Guardian and the Town Hall occupy the same spot. You place one 4 by 4 building and you get both the highest value target in the base and a patrolling defender covering the area around it. That coupling is why Town Hall 18 layouts tend to put real thought into the Guardian’s patrol zone: it has to cover an area that matters, and it cannot be ignorable while the attacker takes the other half of the base.

If the Guardian becomes a separate structure, that coupling breaks. You get a second placement decision, and the two can be pulled apart: a Town Hall deep in the core with the Guardian covering a different compartment entirely, or the reverse. It also means the Guardian becomes a target that can be removed without touching the Town Hall.

None of that is actionable until the building exists. It is a reason to expect Town Hall 19 layouts to look genuinely different rather than being Town Hall 18 layouts with one more building squeezed in.

What to do at Town Hall 18 in the meantime

The useful move is to finish Town Hall 18 properly. Guardians max at level 5, and while one is upgrading it stops defending in regular multiplayer battles, though the previous completed level still defends in Ranked, Clan War and Clan War League. Plan Guardian upgrades around your war schedule rather than around a Town Hall 19 rumour.

Layouts worth running now:

Every layout page shows the full base picture. When Town Hall 19 does ship, the hubs and the finder follow from one configuration value, so real layouts will go up as soon as we have real bases to show.

How this page will change

When Supercell publishes a release-notes post or a sneak peek, this page is updated with what that post says and nothing more. It stays out of search results until Town Hall 19 is announced, because a page about an unreleased Town Hall has no business competing with pages about the game people are actually playing.

Questions

When is Town Hall 19 coming out?
There is no release date. Supercell has confirmed that Town Hall 19 is in development and that it still aims to ship a new Town Hall roughly every 12 months, but it has not announced a day, a month or a season.
Has Supercell officially confirmed Town Hall 19 exists?
Yes. A Supercell game designer discussed it publicly in August 2026, including specific design decisions. What has not happened is a release announcement with a date.
Will the Guardians still sit on the Town Hall?
No. Supercell has said the Guardians will be detached from the Town Hall at Town Hall 19 and moved into their own structure, and that the exact form of that structure is still undecided.
Will I need maxed Guardians to upgrade to Town Hall 19?
Supercell has said no. The stated intention is that you can upgrade your Town Hall even with Guardians still at level 1.
Do you have Town Hall 19 base layouts?
No, and we will not invent them. A layout for a Town Hall that does not exist would be a guess about building counts, and building counts are the one thing a layouts site cannot get wrong.
